World Cup
I love football, as you know.
So inevitably I love the world cup, when the best players in the world come together to try to win this famous trophy.

It's more than a little heart breaking that Ireland didn't manage to make it to World Cup 26. After a terrible start to their small group of four teams, they completed a famous double of wins against Portugal (2-0) and Hungary (3-2) to book their place in a play off.
That play off started perfectly with Ireland going 2-0 up in the first half, but they let it slip and Czechia took full advantage drawing level and beating us on penalty kicks, a sickening way to go out of any tournament, just ask our closest neighbours England...
Anyway that's a story for a different day, alas Ireland are not there this time and the wait goes on for our fourth appearance - 1990, 1994 and 2002 being our other times.
Lots of the matches here are on at stupid o clock, so I've only seen around three full matches so far, with Canada vs Bosnia and the first half of Brazil vs Morocco the pick of them.

So I had a choice to make last night before watching the Qataris take on the Swiss.
What would be the tipple of choice?
Some decent normal and non alcoholic choices peered out from the fridge.

In the end I went with Vino Tinto!
My brother in law won this bottle in a raffle and because he lives in Dublin, he told me to just have it.

So have it I did, with some nice Lindt dark chocolate 🍫 👌

Well, that's it.
Until next time Beer Saturdayorians...
