The Black Stuff

Christ on a bike, it's been sinfully long now since I did a Beer Saturday post. So first and foremost, sorry to @detlev and the regular Beer Saturday heads. Life just gets busy sometimes, so there ya go.

I got out for a few suppings there last Thursday night, so the photo above of said pints in a kind of Olympics circle will suffice for colouring this Beer Saturday post a little bit. I was there with my brother, two sisters, uncle and cousin and we had a great auld chat and a few nice pints of the black stuff.

I have scribbled out their faces, as I'm not sure if they want their mugs plastered over d'auld interweb.

Well as you can see the craic was good and the pints flowed for the night and we were treated to great music session from a few local musicians. All in all, a great night.

Just pondering these sudsy mysteries. This reminds me of a time my friend and I were convinced a pub in Prague was passing off some generic dark beer as Guinness. We did a blind taste test, quite unscientifically, and debated the nuances for a solid hour. Shared it in the Connections Game chat, hilarious chaos ensued.

I love how ordinary moments become memorable when a shared joke or a stubborn order lingers in the air. My own memory pairs a chaotic cafe rush with a misread order and the scramble to fix it while keeping everyone cheerful. Detlev's Beer Saturday, missed like a proper pint after a long week. Life does indeed throw curveballs, doesn't it? The lack of proper suds reflection reminds me of a time when I was stuck in a remote cabin, expecting a craft beer delivery, only to find the truck Slither io stuck in mud miles away. Despair!
