Golf and a few pints of the black stuff for Beer Saturday

in BEER4 days ago

Sure why not?

I finished up for the Christmas holidays on Christmas eve and have had a nice break since then.

I'm not back in the office until Monday 5th January.

So when one of my buddies asked me of I wanted to go to play golf in Kells in county Meath, a two hour drive from my home, I said why not.

The course was Headford and I'd played it before and I knew it was an excellent track and it didn’t disappoint.

Unfortunately, I only remembered to take one photo out on the course and this is it here and it doesn't do the place justice.

There are trees dotted around here that are hundreds of years old and some fantastic golf holes.

There was four of us playing and as usual, we made a game of it. We got the four golf balls and threw them up in the air.

The two balls that land closest form a team and the game is fourball betterball, similar to the format used in the Ryder cup.

It was great fun and a close close game, but they just got the better of us, as one of my friends John was playing exceptionally well.

After the 2 hour drive and 18 holes of golf, we had a good hunger and an even better thirst, so a few delicious pints of Guinness and a feed followed and absolutely hit the spot 👌

And sure when you have one pint of Guinness and a very good pint of Guinness at that, sure you'd have to have two, so that's exactly what I did!

Well, that's it.
