Hmmmmmm
I love a good conundrum and to be fair this isn't much of a conundrum but it's a conundrum nonetheless! Who says you can't fit conundrum three times into a sentence? Nonsense....
So we have plans today to head out to the farm for a solstice bonfire, pizza oven action, barbecue and of course a few beers what family and friends. I'm really looking forward to it but I'm just trying to decide what I'll bring with me from the fridge.
I've got my trusty Guinness, I also have Irish cider by the name of Bulmers which is always nice in the warm summer weather especially when drank would a pint glass of ice. Then of course there are my beloved IPAs which always go down a treat again, especially nice in the warmer weather. What to pick that is the question? So the contenders are...
Guinness
First up we have Guinness, a traditional Irish stout that I'm sure everybody reading this post knows all about as it is one of our biggest exports here from Ireland. The thing with Guinness is you won't get as good a pint anyone in the world. In Ireland, our draft Guinness is as Good as it gets. There was a time when the cans of Guinness weren't great at all as you could never get a great head like you get in draft Guinness.
Guinness to be fair to to them came up with the widget, which is a little plastic ball that they put inside each can which releases gas when it is opened which helps to give a home poured pint a nice head.
Is nice creamy Guinness the drink I should opt for today?
Brewdog's Punk IPA
Next on the list we have Scotland's finest and that is BrewDog IPA they have many tasty IPAs and they are one of the top IPA producers in the world in my opinion. In the fridge I've eight little small cans of punk IPA. These are particularly nice on warm summer days and really quench a thirst easily.
Am I on to a winner with these especially considering we're going to be having barbecue food and pizza later on?
Bulmers Cider
Last on the list but by no means least we have Bulmers Irish cider which you'll see from the can is made from 17 different varieties of Irish apples.
I don't usually drink this all year round but typically in the summer months there's nothing nicer than a big pint glass of ice and a nice frosty can or even better, a pint glass of Bulmers to pour into it.
So is Bulmers the winner for today?
So let me know what you think in the comments below I'll be the best option to clench a man's first at a bonfire, barbecue and Pizza night?
I'm leaning on the side of bringing the Bulmers and the IPAs, as it's probably just a little bit too warm for Guinness, which might be better off being left in the fridge. It's also quite warm so the big glass of ice for the Bulmers certainly appeals.
