A few pints of the Black Stuff
There's a bit of a trend emerging in these weekly Beer Saturday posts of mine. Every second week now typically sees me have a few a pints of Guinness for Beer Saturday. That's exactly what happened this week as well. We had my wife's family visiting from the UK, so I took Monday off work and we did stuff with the kids at the weekend, but Monday was pencilled in for golf for my brother in law and I and sure I had to show him my local on the way home. Sure, I mean it would have been rude not to!
He loves his Guinness and everybody knows that the Guinness here in Ireland is the best around - I mean the drink is from Ireland, it's typically brewed in Ireland and yeah from my experience it tastes best here in Ireland. So whenever he comes over I always make a point to bring him to a nice Guinness pub or two and that hadn't happened yet in this trip so I'm glad we managed to get a few in at my local before they went home on Tuesday.
Fine pint it was too as you'll see from the picture below.
We had a really enjoyable game of golf as well it was just nice to get out in the fresh air and catch up and have a bit of banter on the way around, unfortunately my brother-in-law played pretty badly and I played pretty well after a bad start, so the scores were not too close.
He was happy enough though after around twelve holes, when I suggested that we stop at the local on our way home. I was able to park up my car and collect it the following day. Here are the lovely creamy pints that we were served.
A good way to know if you have a good pint of Guinness is if the stout sticks to the back of the glass as you drink it and this definitely stuck to the back of the glass as we drank these so they were good pints, sure why else would it be my local!
