Traveling by bus is my least favorite way to move around as I had a little traumatic experience traveling by bus and I would avoid it as much as I could. However, recently, I had my first experience traveling with a semi-comfortable type of bus. It runs from Yogyakarta to Jakarta with a few options. Much like a train, they offer a few services which start with economy to executive class. Think of it as having several tiers such as tier 1,2,3, and VIP.
This time around, I was traveling on the 2nd tier which offers a comfortable seating, adjustable and reclining chair with lunch service and snacks. The bus is also equipped with a toilet that you can use whenever you feel like during the journey.
Apparently, there are people who really love buses and have their own community. They prefer traveling by it rather than by train because of all the reasons they could think of. For me though, I am still the team train. It does not matter how hard someone convinces me to take a bus, I’d rather take the train.
The morning view from Yogyakarta to Jakarta during the morning schedule is quite pretty. Since the long distance bus has a higher deck, we could see the mountain and all the lush greenery pretty up close and in HD.
It was such lovely weather as well and I enjoyed my journey. These are some of the pictures I captured from my journey using the bus.
However, once we reached Jakarta, we were dropped off at a rather sketchy place ( this is the minus of using the bus). Although, there is a certain pool that isn’t sketchy and is convenient to order grab/taxi services to reach our home.
Somehow despite it all, actually I am curious about other types of bus including the VIP buses that run from Jakarta to Yogyakarta. Maybe when I have more energy, I would love to try other bus options but for now, nothing would change my mind about traveling by train.
During this trip to Jakarta, my schedule is still unclear but I’d love to check out the old town and share the story again here. Nowadays that I frequent the city, I am getting more and more places to discover.
But that’s about it and that’s my experience traveling to Jakarta using the bus as my first experience ever.
