I am confused about the meaning of the sentence "the customer is always wrong" otherwise this place is very nice and unique

I think it was probably meant to be black humor, sarcasm, but I don't like that inscription either. They could have written it the other way around - "the customer is always right" πŸ˜‰ Also jokingly, but in a positive way towards the customer.
