Not really... I feel like people know if the engagement is sincere. I think I do. And, to be honest, I think this is more for the authors. We all want readers. This brings them to us, no?

Its a valid question, and while I can see how this can look, I also believe this can help people discover new authors that they wouldn't otherwise. For example, I stumbled on your post while Meno and I were working on Tapintu. While there were other posts with CR, I found yours interesting, and chose to leave my thoughts - its a win win.
