I see me
Not the mask the world designed,
But the soul behind the careful lines.
The quiet strength, the silent plea,
The fire they tried and failed to douse in me.
I see the scars, not with regret,
But as reminders: I’m not done yet.
Each mark a path, a pain, a fight,
Each bruise reborn into my light.
I see me in curves and shade,
In joy I never once displayed.
In laughter loud, in tears set free,
In love that finally came from me.
Not who I was told to be,
Not what they feared or failed to see
But full, uncut, divinely true,
A masterpiece in every hue.
I see me
And I don’t look away.
I stay.
Because now, I know I’m worth the gaze.
