Cheating a bit to reach 10k

I just finished a 11.085km running that lasted about 0hh:48mm:4ss !

Clearly had a good time yesterday night, but I ate and most importantly drank quite a bit. No hangover per say, but getting the motivation for a run today wasn't easy. But with a big bright sun again, and about 18 degrees Celsius (crazy for just March, where did Winter go?), I had to finish the week with one more run. And for once, I was ready to go earlier than usual, so I was able to run in daylight the whole way, which allowed me to change up the route a little bit. Back to an old loop that I used to run often, with some extra small loops around it.

Surprisingly, it started pretty well, I felt okay, with a decent pace on the first 3 miles. But that didn't last long, the fourth mile was suddenly such a struggle that I had to walk for a bit at the beginning of the fifth mile. Probably a good decision, because I'm pretty sure I wasn't too far from puking 🤢. I fast-walked for about 5 minutes and that was just what I needed to get a second wind and add another couple of miles, for a total a little over 10km. As I paused my watch during the walking part, it seems Strava got confused once the workout was imported from Samsung Health. The distance includes the part I walked, but not the time I took to walk it, hence the crazy average pace. And it triggered a bunch of 'best estimated' efforts, which of course aren't real.

Anyways, even with this little cheating, I'm happy I could get this run in today, in order to keep the current good training frequency. We'll see tomorrow what I end up doing, more running, or cycling, or just rest. It will depend on the weather, and of course how my body feels.
