Three-peat: Evening 10k Run

in EXHAUST3 years ago

I just finished a 10.263km running that lasted about 0hh:46mm:55ss !

Another very sunny day, clearly too bright for the camera on my phone, hence the terrible cover photo! And of course, I only got started on my run just before sunset. Some things never change...
Even if the temperature was warm-ish today, around 8 degrees C, I started with my gloves, thinking I would quickly take them off. But I ended up keeping them on the whole way. I often get cold hands, probably my blood flow is not the best. That would also explain why my watch sometimes struggles finding a signal strong enough to measure heart rate.

It was another repeat of Wednesday run, which was already very similar to Monday run. I really have to change the route for my next run, which means I have to start earlier, so I can finish the run before it's too dark. Maybe Sunday?...

Even if I got a good rest yesterday, with only dog walks for activity, you guessed it, I didn't stretch at all. So, my legs were sore today. I can only blame myself of course. But, even as I was counting the remaining distance in the end (one more mile, half a mile, a quarter mile, 50 meters...) to forget how tired I was, it felt way better and it's obvious with a pace more than 10 seconds faster per mile. I didn't let the wind slow me down too much when I turned back. Actually, it's probably one of my most consistent runs in a while. All the mile splits pretty close around the average, instead of my pace constantly decreasing along the way like last time.

Already 30km for the week, that hadn't happened in a while. And I'm still planning a run on Sunday, although with time difference, it will probably appear on Exhaust only Monday. My knee is not a bother anymore, just a very faint pain that might even be more psychological than anything else. I'll keep wearing the brace for a bit though. Hopefully, I can start soon adding a little speed to my runs, and alternate with longer runs.

Keep Exhausting!
