10k Evening Run

I just finished a 10.291km running that lasted about 0hh:48mm:9ss !

The temperature roller-coaster continues here, with close to 15 degrees Celsius today. Even with only one layer, long sleeves but thin, I sweated like crazy. It's possible my body's struggling to adapt to these constantly changing temperatures. At least, it was quite sunny and the sunset spectacular.

Except for a final push near the end to reach 10k, today was pretty much a repeat of Monday's run. Of course, I once again let the day pass by me, and I had to rush out the door to start my run before it got dark. I did finish in complete darkness, without a light of course. That's one of the reasons I stuck to this route, as I know it very well and feel confident it's quite safe, both for injuries and bad drivers.

Even the miles splits were almost identical to Monday, except for the last mile or so, when I started to really run out of fuel (I probably should have eaten more cheese cake in the afternoon 😁). So, again, the first 2 miles were too fast for my current form, and after the turn back in the parking lot wide-open to the wind, I slowed down and never picked the pace back up. I think that's one difference with a few months ago: if something slowed me down, like wind or deep snow, it would be temporary and I would get back close to the original pace. Not so much anymore. I guess it's a combination of less will power and the few extra pounds I gained recently (remember the cheese cake I mentioned above? 😁).

If I trust the weather forecast, tomorrow should be rainy most of the day, and windy. So, the goal is to do a bit of weight lifting at home and a stretching session (Yes, I will some day do that, maybe tomorrow's the day!).
