For my Freestyle Collage No. 51, my theme is a journey's beginning and end as two travelers are invited to join others in a group setting. Their destination is "Paradise." Unfamiliar with the area, they are provided with route instructions. As they attempt to navigate through hidden paths, they encounter numerous obstacles and wonders. Do they finally reach their destination? It does look promising. The creatures they encounter are menacing, however, they ultimately locate the right path that leads them to the mysterious misty mountains. They stand in awe and wonder as they gaze out onto the beautiful waterfall.
In preparing my theme, the primary focus was to obtain an image that could be used as a symbol of a lost culture perhaps. I set out to create a pure fractal that fit that description. I titled the fractal "African Mask2". The iterations for this rendering was an amazing combination of variations built upon the Julian fractal framework. I designed this pure fractal in Apophysis 7X, an advanced fractal rendering program.
I then realized I needed a scary and mysterious face. This image would be used to ward of intruders.

For the background, the image had to be interesting enough so that individuals would believe something truly ominous resided there. I located an interesting image of hands statutes buried in the ground with the fingers protruding. I felt it was an image I could apply a menacing symbol that could be used as a warning to intruders.

Below are the additional images I included to complete my theme. I included other fractals to enhance the mystery of the area the travels passed through. Other images I located at the LMAC's LIL Database.

To blend all the images, I uploaded them into Canva. I use this design program as part of my upgraded Annual Pro Membership Subscription. In that capacity, I have access to the features for colorizing, background removal, resizing, and various filters and photo manipulations.
Below are my procedures from left to right. I started with a blank canvas, then changed the background color to black.
