From the Lighthouse the Goddess Shines | LMAC Collage FreeStyle No. 53 [Eng/Esp]

LMAC-FreeStyle-No53-RetreatByTheRiver.jpg

The shoreline situated at the base of the island across from the lighthouse offered the ideal secluded spot for Jana. With binoculars, she looked out over the river to the opposite side before anchoring near a clump of bushes. Stepping from the small boat, she stood glancing up at the evening sky. She reached back into the front of the boat for her backpack and strapped it tightly across one shoulder.

It had been twenty years since Jana last visited. She'd come too far to turn back. Her ancestors had resided on that small island.

She fumbled at the pages of the local brochure. Surface information about the place of her birth. The stories she sat many nights absorbing with interest banked themselves into her memory.

Lore suggested that, if patient, one could catch a glimpse of the white goddess. The protector of the land where evil was driven out many centuries ago. The winged angel statue kneeling to her left side was built to honor the goddess. The white, iridescent water flows from behind the mountain. Some say it purifies the river. Others say the white foam cleanses the soul and heals your body.

Looking up above the bridge on the other side of the island, she stared wide eyed as the lighthouse cast the apparition. Goddess Azira sat high above the mountain tinted orange by the evening's presence.

Immediately white foam streamed down from behind the mountains. Animals and people appeared. Magic surrounded the tiny island. Time ceased to exist there as if Jana was transported back to the place of her ancestors.

For my Freestyle Collage No. 53, my theme was "forklore". I knew I wanted to include elements of magic, a secluded island landscape, angels, and a water elements. To achieve the background and landscape scene, I decided to use the image of a recent LMAC image, together with a free-sourced image. The images provided the island landscape I envisioned.

Below are the additional images of magical people and animals I included to complete my theme:

Desde el Faro Brilla la Diosa | LMAC Collage FreeStyle No. 53

LMAC-FreeStyle-No53-RetreatByTheRiver.jpg
