It was the strange whispers that filled her mind. She woke to the summons. She must go. Attempting to hold back the compulsion to rush out in the middle of the night, she fidgeted, wringing her hands. But she must. Her family's fate hung on her decision.
Thoughts of her broken promise to wed the livery stableman's son. Sinking into deep despair, he curse the fair Beatrice and her family for she scorned his advances.
Little did he realize that Beatrice's disdain was not of scorn. She loathed his practice into the dark arts. She loathed his friends. But above all, she loathed the devious looks he cast thinking they went unnoticed.
His plans for her was not of love.
Nowhere to run, Beatrice stood rigid facing the swamp. Blue lights twinkled in harmony as croaking sounds filled the night air. She gazed out over the dark waters. Soft ripples should have soothed her shaking body as they shimmered in the night's glow. But tall shadows crept forward.
A prickly sensation rose up over her shoulders. The hot breath of evil whispered into her ear. "You are mine, now. Make no mistake."
Beatrice sank to the ground, unable to resist the gnawing of teeth in her shoulders as the beast dragged her into his lair behind the rocky bend.
For my FreeStyle Collage No. 54, my theme was "beauty and the night beast". I wanted to take a twist on a family theme while presenting the traditional beautiful and alluring young woman who faces a terrifying beast. However, in my story, the young lady does not know the evil that set his eyes upon her and decides she must become his bride at all costs.
The background of the story takes place during a starry, but mysterious night. For the landscape and skyline elements, I located two images that portray this mystery.
The first image I used as the skyline and middle portion of the landscape. The second image I used as the bottom landscape with the trees.
In preparing my theme, four pure fractals I created fit well with the scene, I felt. Three pure fractals surrounded the face, while the fourth fractal provided the colorful dreamlike state of the swamp.
Below are the additional images I included to complete my theme. They were all obtained from the LMAC's LIL database. Thanks to @eve66 and @redheadpei for your contributions. They enhanced my night screen.

###### Thanks for your visit. I appreciate it. I hope you like my freestyle collage theme.
No te equivoques".
