When I checked Twitter this morning, I was a bit shocked to see some NEWS fans who I've been following because they're tweeting something again about Tegoshi. For the past days, Tegoshi has been in the hot seat because he has been disregarding quarantine rules by going outside a lot. Well, it wouldn't matter if he was an ordinary citizen in Japan because their rules aren't that strict. However, he's a star, so it's a big deal.
He also ignored the warning and went out again, so it led to his suspension. The thing is, there are rumors that he declined the suspension and decided to quit Johnny's Entertainment.
This rumor shocked the fans. Fans of NEWS are especially sensitive these days because of what Tegoshi has done the past days and I couldn't blame them. I am a NEWS fan myself and I have been a crazy fan of Tegoshi for around ten years now.
Let's Talk About NEWS and Tegoshi for a bit
I have been a NEWS fan for around ten years now. When I became their fan, there were six members in the group. They have saved me from depression and I will always be grateful to them. Their songs are really encouraging and positive that you'd like to face life head on without any worries... and regrets.
Among all the members, Tegoshi Yuya was my favorite. I actually became a Tegoshi fan before I became a NEWS fan. I was randomly watching some YouTube videos that time and I stumbled upon his performance. It was a clip from one of their concerts where he sang his version of "Ai Nante". His voice was the best voice I've heard so far... even until now. I believe he has the best vocals among all singers! His pretty face was just a bonus!
From then on, I followed his and NEWS' journey as a fan who has been saved by their music.
After a year or so, a big challenge came to NEWS. From a six-member group, they turned into four. It was such a shock because both their leaders are gone. YamaPi and Ryo left the group... they left the fans. It was such a difficult time for the fans, but most especially for the remaining members.
But still, they struggled and became successful... even more successful than before! They have dedicated themselves in performing and giving their best shot in everything.
I might be being biased since I am their fan, but the challenges they have gone through is not easy at all.
I will forever be grateful that in this life, I have met an idol group which made me treasure life and myself even more.
...going back to the issue
Scandals and rumors have been a part of Tegoshi's life. I bet, it's always a part of being an idol because even the other members have experienced such things as well. Well, for Tegoshi, it's more often that his fans, me included, has gotten used to it. Not to the extent that we accept him for having these scandals and stuff, but the fact that these things happen isn't shocking anymore.
The latest one though is quite bad. As an idol, he should also be a role model to people in following the government's rules and requests... and he failed to do so. That's why it's disappointing.
He deserves to be suspended as a consequence, but rumors of him quitting is another story. Of course, it's his life and he has every right to decide when to quit, but I don't really want him to quit. It's not only for my sake or the fan's sake, but for NEWS.
I love NEWS with every bit of my being and I don't want them to go through the things they have gone through in the past. I want NEWS to stay together, with all five members... Keiichan, Shige, Massu, Tego and US... the fans!
So, as much as possible, I want Tegoshi to stay with NEWS. I know that he's going through something, but I also want him to know that he is not alone. We always have your back no matter how many times you fail, but of course, we're also here to keep you disciplined.
Tegoshi... I know you don't know me, but you have unknowingly saved me. You and NEWS have brought me back the happiness I once lost. You are already an irreplaceable part of my life. So, stay strong. I love you and I love NEWS. U R not ALONE!

I am forever grateful for having the chance to meet NEWS. I will forever treasure the moments and chances I got to spend with my fellow fans. NEWS fandom will always be the best. I may not be as active as I used to be, but NEWS never and will never leave my heart.
