Disney+ missed the mark
Here we are, millennials, raised loving Highschool Musical. And even if You didn't like it You probably knew all the songs.

So what does Disney+ decide to do? Obviously, try to make more money with a branding that was very popular. They create a whole series around the fact that Highschool Musical was a classic and have been part of so many People lifes.
Could Have been much better
In my mind I am clearly the target audience, since Younger generations would probably don't have a connection with this franchising as I do. And I feel that's where they failed, because they have tried to reach a Younger audience. In my personal they did it half gas. Not giving enough attention and nuggets to the "original" fan base but also not explaining enough to new audiences that don't know much about the series.
When it comes to the musical performances I was expecting way more music. They have a mixture between originals from the movies and new original songs but I feel that they should for sure have got more songs in there, specially when they had 11 episodes.

On a positive note I liked the cast, there are great voices, the jokes are fun and in general it is a series easy to watch. I just feel disappointed because I thought they could go way further and deeper when it comes to make the connect and the performances.
Final Episode
When it comes to the final episode of the first Season I am not even going to go there. What was that ending? Why? How? When? So many questions. What I have to say: terrible ending and doesn't make me feel like to watch anymore.
Resuming, I don't recommend this series. Either You are a fan or just curious to know more about HSM. Just don't do watch it.
