I'd like to share a couple onsite sculptures I carved in NYC last October. Not only do I carve at the Woodlawn cemetery in the Bronx, but have also acquired a contract with the Parkchester Condominiums complex in the Bronx. They saw my work at the Woodlawn and that sparked an idea with them. There are a total of 54 trees that need to come down on the property. What better way than to give them a new life by hiring me to sculpt them. An unbelievable opportunity!

There are now 51 trees on the property to be carved. With 2 more scheduled for later this year. Hopefully can get them all carved before I retire.
Here is the first one I carved 2 years ago.
They wanted to portray animal life they normally see everyday.
Took a few night shots of the 2 year old sculpture when I got there.

I will leave it up to your imagination why they had to build the fence around it.

We'll start with the stump. What it looked like before I started carving.

A slender stump to fit a woman and child but I'm always up for the challenge 🤪

After day one. Blocked out..
They give me an apartment to stay in while I'm there so I had the opportunity to see what it looked like at night. The light hits it nicely..

The next day I managed to get it detailed for the most part.

Being a slender stump made for quick carving.
Heres a shot from the end of day 2

I managed to film the entire process, edit the footage and create this video:
On to sculpture number 2, the musical theme.
I didn't get as many pictures of this one but did film it also.
The stump..before

The end of day 3

The end of day 4, saw work was done.

Day 5 was for detail and some shadowing with the airbrush.

Here's a time lapse video of that piece as well:
Next 2 pieces are scheduled for September and the themes are policeman and fireman.
I hope you enjoy seeing what I "saw"
If so feel free to upvote and resteem
I love what I do and I'm happy to share here on steemit.
Thanks for looking
