I enjoyed making my first oil pastel art last time, so I made another one. This time, I wanted to draw the sunset in the sea. However, it looked a bit bland, so I made some adjustments in the end.
I'm actually quite happy with how it turned out. Here it is!
I made it using a watercolor paper, oil pastel and a calligraphy pen. lol Allow me to show you the process starting from placing some masking tape around this paper.
I placed it on my sketchpad because the table I was using has ridges.
I then placed another masking tape in the middle and divided it into two parts: the sky and the sea. I started placing and mixing some colors for the sky and the sunset.
I did some adjustments while mixing the oil pastel with tissue. When I got the mixture of color for the sky that I want, I changed the position of the masking tape in the middle, so I can focus on the sea part. :)
Mix.. adjust... mix.. adjust... everything is trial and error, really. It's fun, though. The last picture was what I pictured out the sunset and the sea would look like, however, as I've mentioned earlier, it looks bland. It's kind of plain, so I wanted something to add on it. And this is what I came up with.
I took one of my calligraphy pens which I usually use for drawing (lol), and drew a silhouette of the beach and some coconut trees. I think it really gave a tropical vibe to the photo. I actually like it and it made me miss watching the sunset by the beach.
Lastly, I took out the masking tapes surrounding it and wrote my username and signature. <3 I'm glad with how it looked. It made me want to make more artworks utilizing the oil pastel. It's so enjoyable to use, too... even though it's kind of messy. haha
After resting for quite a while due to my asthma, I was able to draw more. I'm going to continue doing so to keep my mind relaxed. Drawing or painting really is fun!
I'll end this post here for now. Until next time! (^^,)/
