When it comes to movies or series, I really like characters who in one way or another is relatable. In the Netflix series Stranger Things, one of the characters that I can relate to is Max. I can relate to her in terms of her hobbies or interests. She likes playing games and listening to music. She also has this bubbly and friendly character yet still realistic. She weighs things and sometimes overthinks. Well, there are both positive and negative sides of her, but I still like her character. She's just so cool even without any superpower.
Anyway, I tried making a fanart of Max and here's what I came up with.
When I look at my final output, I though I drew Merida of Brave. I haven't watched that film, but I at least know how the character looks like. haha Well, it's maybe because appearance-wise Merida and Max are similar.
Anyway, allow me to share some progress shots as to how I made this fanart.
As you may have noticed in this series of progress shots, I used a B pencil for the sketch. And as for the coloring, I used a mixture of colored pencils and marker pens on a sketchpad. I like combining these two materials when coloring. It allows me to utilize various colors and using markers makes it much faster (coz I'm lazy, yet I love drawing... XD). I also didn't really want to use markers on the smaller details because it might smudge unless I have markers with really fine points. haha
I enjoyed creating this piece last night while randomly playing some interesting music. I guess, drawing while listening to some music made me giddier and eager to finish. It was a fun activity to do to end my weekend.
Now, I'm going to get ready for my next class. My student this time is either late or absent, so I could post this earlier. lol
Until next time!!!! <3
