I'm so happy today because two of my cousins came over. They're both my cousins from my father's side. They used to live in my father's hometown but are now living in Cebu for work. We were able to bond and talk a lot today. We reminisced our childhood days especially in the summer since my parents and I usually visits in my father's hometown. We'd spend a lot of time playing outside and our favorite place is called "Center Mall".
Nope, "Center Mall" is not in any way, a mall. It's more of a park with lots of football fields, trees and some restaurants which are usually open from the afternoon until night. My cousins and I usually play around the fields or perhaps go to the mini park where there were slides, seesaw, swings and a lot more.
I miss this place since I haven't gone there since the pandemic started. *My father's hometown is in another island." Because I miss the place, I decided to paint it. I used one of the photos I took the last time I went there as a reference. Here it is!
Yep, I finally got the chance to use my new solid watercolor! Anyway, allow me to show you the process as to how I made this artwork.
I prepared the materials I needed to use and prepped the page I'm painting on with masking tape.
I don't usually do this, but I decided to lightly sketch the subject I'm painting... but actually, the partition would be my main reason for doing so since I'd be needing several colors for backround in each part.
My painting would have three main elements which are the fields, the road and the sky. I wanted to create the idea of distance in this painting. Now, let's paint the details... And oh, my sketch earlier was almost not visible anymore, but at least, I could somehow separate the parts. Enjoy the rest of the painting.
And it's done. All I need to do now is take out the tapes on each side and write my username and signature. Here are also various angles of the painting.
There you go... :)
I really love playing with my cousins in this place. My parents and I also love to jog around the area. It's very clean and refreshing.
My father's hometown is a small city with lots of green!! Although there are more buildings in some part of the area these days, the football fields and the mini park are still there. After the pandemic, my parents and I would surely visit this place again! 🥰
Thanks for checking out this painting! I hope you enjoyed it... :)
