I wanted to share a recent ink drawing I finished. I was experimenting with a more extreme, upward perspective and trying to capture a sense of raw, startled emotion.
This piece was done entirely with a ballpoint pen. I find that working with ink forces me to be more intentional with my lines—there’s no "undo" button, so every hatch mark contributes to the final texture and depth.
I focused heavily on the eyes and the nostrils to emphasize that "looking up" angle. I wanted the viewer to feel the intensity of the expression, whether it's shock, fear, or realization.
