The most awaited annual event for toy collectors, ToyCon 2025, just concluded its first day.
One of the highlights of the event is the upcoming Superman movie that will hit theaters this July.
This is the registration wristband with a green lantern ring.
This collector's haul on the first day include characters that are obscure for casual fans of DC Comics, but well-known to hardcore comic readers.
Below is Death, the eldest sister of Dream in the Sandman series. This figure used to be quite pricey, but is now at a bargain sale. It is from DC Direct, the line of figures most noted for amazing sculpts and designs but poor quality and number of articulation.
Due to this figure's rarity and features, it might stay sealed in its plastic prison forever.
The next item is Manhunter, an assassin most famous to Gen X readers but is now quite obscure. The figure itself is equally obscure and quite rare. In fact, this is the first time this collector has seen it ever. Otherwise, this figure would have been completely unknown. As an even rarer item than Death, it might also stay sealed.
The pictures below are of Naut Ke Loi, a fish-like alien member of the Green Lantern Corps.
The figure is from Mattel's Movie Masters line. This is the character's version that was seen in the Green Lantern movie starring Ryan Reynolds.
All in all, a satisfying first day. This collector will be back on the third and final day and will hopefully acquire more items.
