Do you know that the entire chayote plant is edible including the roots, shoots, fruits, leaves, and flowers? Chayote contains a high amount of vitamin c, folate, and fiber, base on my knowledge from what I have read.
Chayote leaves are best suited for cooking such as sauteing, boiling, stir-frying steaming, and baking. In some country, the leaves are boiled and made into a tea infusion to help
reduce symptoms of coughs, colds, and indigestion.
Today, I cooked chayote by sauteing it on garlic, and onion with smoked fish.
We should eat foods which give benefits to our health.
Good nutrition plays an important part of leading a healthy lifestyle.
