Mother's are the foundations and backbone of every home.
Their multi tasking ability is very superb.
A man can only handle one thing at a time. That's how much our focus could allow us. The case isn't the same for women, especially mothers.
She would be thinking about her unsettled customers and still would be able to remember that her wedding anniversary was the next day, and her son hadn't gotten the book he wanted which she had promised to get him.
My Mum was a typical example of a super hero.
The difference was that added to the fact that she could multi task she could also tell when you were lying to her.
The first two times that happened, i thought it was just a good guess.
Coincidence if you get what i mean.
I was shocked to my bones when it was proven otherwise.
My mum had carried our family helping my Dad with basically everything he needed from her. My Dad was at work trying to earn more money to solve most of our needs.
I really adored their team work.
My Dad had his super power too. His power was making you smile no matter how downcasted you felt. I had this thought as a kid, "why didn't Dad chase a carrer in comedy like Basketmouth or kelvin Hart."
I guess it was just me as a kid laughing to his Dad jokes.
I could remember the period after my childhood friend had relocated. I cried for days and rejected food.
My Dad had travelled and just came back when he heard the news.
After settling down, he carried me on his lap . He was quiet a few minutes. My mum came in later and served his food.
My Dad started eating and was making this weird sound, indicating that the food was too delicious to ignore.
I moved away from him and was watching him. I pretended i wasnt looking but he knew i was watching.
So he picked up his huge chicken lap and started eating it.
My Dad was one who was focused when eating, but he that day he ate in a different way.
He started with the chicken, when he almost finished it, he looked at me; "Ben, do you care for some?" He asked.
I was so damn sure he had the answers to that question.
I had two plates of food after i tasted it.
When my Dad was around, even our neighbors were aware of it. Because i and my siblings are more peaceful with each other. Everyone was behaved totally.
My mum's super power was more like she was connected to us and see what we were up to.
At least thats how i understood it.
In university, i had a girlfriend and she came to visit. I know you won't believe this but my plan was simple. Entertain her, cook, hang out, watch a movie or two then walk her home.
Simple right?
The whole thing turned around when my Mum decided to use her superpower.
I promise you, at some point, i had to check the room for cctv, you would never know.
In the middle of waching a movie, my phone rang and it was my Mum.
"Hello, Mum. Good evening ma."
"How are you?" She asked.
"I'm blessed, ma."
She took a deep sigh. "Are you alone in your room?" She asked.
At this point, i didn't know what to say because she had a track record of knowing things unusually.
"No mum, my girlfriend visited me." I decided to go with the truth.
My girlfriend hearing what i said turned and started paying attention to the call too.
"It's a good thing you did by telling me the truth." After a pause. "So, when is she going back to her hostel?" She asked.
"Soon. Very soon, we were just watching movie."
"Okay, that's good. You'venot forgotten what i thought you before you left for school. I'll call you in an hour make sure by that time you've worked her home." She sighed. "If she asked you what i said, greet her for me."
"Okay ma."
Then i dropped the call.
"What did she say?" My girlfriend asked.
I knew if i had said the truth she would react in a weird way and understand the message in an unclear way.
"She said i should greet you."
"Awnnnn, she must be really nice." She said.
"Yeah, very very."
I was still puzzled as to what had happened.
It was strange. My siblings also had stories like that to tell you.
