She had always loved the kitchen and I was nothing like her. I hate anything cooking. My sister is the best cook i know. She is so good that even though you are a picky eater she has a recipe for you.
Recently, she travelled so she could be a certified chef. So she had been looking for the perfect school. Finally, she found a perfect school. The amazing thing about this place is that they also offered to take her through baking classes too.
She was so happy about the opportunity that had been offered to her. Though she was also skeptical about it because it seemed too good to be true. As a chef she always posted on her status to just create awareness about her passion and also get patronising clients so as to put money in her hands as she attended cooking classes too.
So, this day she posted about her church instead of her business and a chef who owns another cooking school chatted her up and was like....
"Hey, Ifeca so you attend this church, that's also my church."
Ifeca: Wow, but I've never seen you in church before.
Chef: Yeah due to the nature of my business i seldom attend church.
Because of this few sentences my sister felt so connected to the new chef. I mean they attended the same church. That other chef wasn't a member of her church, even though she had better deal.
I think connection was what guided my sister to make this decision. This taught me alot about business. Clients buy products emotionally and that's why its so important to guide their attention and create a connection with them.
Your guess is as good as mine, she chose her church member. She attended her cooking class and on the first day of the class, the chef told her:
"That your church that the pastors use to tell people to give money."
My sister was just shocked as to why her boss would make such comments about her pastor.
Scratch that...
About their pastor.
She actually taught that was just the only glitch or red light. Till the woman started picking on her amongst her other twenty students.
This is so typical and says nothing less than all that glitters is not gold
She taught since the chef was a member of her church. Since she sat under the same teaching of their man of God. She must be god fearing and be kind hearted.
She found out after two weeks that the chef wasn't even a member of their church. She was a member of another church. Not that the church was bad it was a good church but the fact that the chef hid under the cloth of a church member to get a student in my sister.
This is the least of what my sister went through in the hands of that lady. She always threatened her students that she wouldn't graduate them if they pissed her off. She always spoke down on them regardless of their location. In public or in private she would raise her voice if you made any mistake.
She wasn't all that bad though. At least she taught them all she promised to do but it took alot of discipline for a student to learn under a teacher who could verbally speak down on them.
All that glitters is not gold. Gold is as precious as the amount of heat that transforms it.
But the cool thing about gold is that the appearance is not judged solely on appearance alone. That is why most people who make choices merely by appearance are often times heart broken because that wasn't what they planned for.
This taught both i and my sister a lesson. Never emotionally make a decision. Calculate the cost and invest wisely.
