I've been listening to some songs from the latest movie of the anime called GIVEN, and somehow it has inspired me to write a poetry piece. It just so happened that one of my students was absent, so I got some extra time to complete a short piece. I hope you like it. :)

I've been freed at last
I'm now moving on
Towards a brand new dawn
Away from the once endless pain
I can finally say, "Never Again"
There'll be times when I'd miss you
Times when I'd think of embracing you
But all these are memories now
I'm pursuing a fresh path somehow
A path where there's no longer you
Though as to where, I still got no clue

Sometimes, we continue to live in the past because we don't have the courage to step forward and leave it behind. However, it's inevitable because the only way we have in life is forward.
This doesn't mean that we should just forget the past for it will always stay. What's important is to change our perspectives. Let's look at the past as a memory, as a lesson... and start living in the present and continue onto the future. :)
