Destined... But Not To Love
Or is it just a wild fantasy
Sometimes fate brings people together
But it doesn't mean they'd stay forever
People come and go in various chapters of our lives
There are times when the person we want to meet the most never arrives
So I bet, it's lucky to at least meet someone you like
For it might be rarer than a lightning strike
Some are destined to meet; but not to fall in love
Yes, for some, it could be pretty tough
But that's how it works and it can't be helped
We could only cry just how the puppies yelped
Being able to experience love is a gift
No matter how quickly it could drift
For the pain we feel keeps us alive
It teaches us how to live and survive

While I was writing this poem about destiny and stuff, it reminded me of someone I met online. I was still a teenager back then, and so was he. He was Japanese and we were somehow in a "virtual relationship" when he sent me this cheesy message, 運命って信じる?あなたと出会うことが運命だったならば、僕は信じる。
In English, that message means "Do you believe in destiny? If I were destined to meet you, I'd believe it." I know, it's cheesy but we were teenagers back then. haha We actually never met in person and we had this crazy virtual relationship which made us act like we were lovers when in fact, he's not attracted to girls at all. Yes, he was gay, but he was curious... and he was the sweetest!
I'm panromantic demisexual, so I can be attracted and fall in love with anyone for as long as I feel this strong emotional attachment or connection to that person. But as you might've guessed... that person was just destined to meet, but not fall in love. We haven't even kept in touch. After we ended "the" relationship, he disappeared. haha
I still remember his words, though... even though it was in Japanese, I found it quite romantic given that I'm a hopeless romantic myself. hahaha Isn't it funny for someone who's NBSB (No Boyfriend Since Birth) to have such crazy relationships? They're not official though, but they were real feelings.
It was nice reminiscing... thanks for checking out my poem. Have a great one!
