Crypto Daily hat ein lustiges Meme auf Twitter gepostet über die dunkle Seite von DeFi:
"Rug pulled" bedeutet soviel wie mir wurde der Boden unter den Füßen weggezogen und ist eine Anspielung auf den Ruin von DeFi-Investments.
DeFi bietet derzeit verrückte Verzinsungen, aber auch enorme Risiken. So wurde zum Beispiel vor zwei Tagen wrapped LEO auf Uniswap gehackt und Hacker konnten ohne LEO zu hinterlegen, wLEO drucken und den Pool bestehlen.
Oder der Pool-Betreiber konnte im Alleingang die restlichen Ether abziehen, die jetzt an die Liquidity Provider verteilt werden sollen. Manche dachten am Anfang daher an einen Exit-Scam, was sich aber nicht bewahrheitete. Mit "Decentralized" hat das nicht mehr viel zu tun.
Weitere Risiken sind die Kursentwicklungen der gehandelten Token. Governance-Token können nach einiger Zeit zum Beispiel 99% an Wert verlieren.
Letztendlich gilt auch im Krypto-Space, dass es keinen "Free Lunch" gibt.
Eine weitere Lektion aus dem wLEO-Hack ist, dass "Wrapped Bitcoin" (WBTC) nicht dasselbe ist wie Bitcoin (BTC). Not your keys, not your Bitcoin. Gilt auch für DeFi auf Ethereum. Auch wenn die Basis-Layer dezentral ist, heißt das nicht, dass die Anwendungen das automatisch sind.
Trotz der Rückschläge haben DeFi-Anwendungen aber enormes Potential, müssen sich aber noch bewähren.

Crypto Daily has posted a funny meme on Twitter about the dark side of DeFi:
"Rug pulled" is a reference that DeFi investors can also get rekt.
DeFi currently offers crazy interest rates, but also enormous risks. For example, two days ago wrapped LEO was hacked on Uniswap and hackers could print wLEO and steal Ether from the pool without depositing LEO.
Or the pool operator was able to single-handedly withdraw the remaining Ether, which are now to be distributed to the original liquidity providers. Some people thought of an exit scam at the beginning, but this was not the case. However, this has not much to do with "decentralized" anymore.
Further risks are the price developments of the traded tokens. Governance tokens, for example, can lose 99% of their value after some time.
Ultimately, it also applies in crypto space that there is no "free lunch".
Another lesson from the wLEO hack is that "wrapped Bitcoin" (WBTC) is not Bitcoin (BTC). Not your keys, not your Bitcoin. Also applies to DeFi on Ethereum. Even if the base layer is decentralized, this does not automatically mean that the applications are.
Despite the setbacks, DeFi applications have enormous potential, but still have to prove themselves.
