The GitHub dev activity is one of the best indicators that dogecoin is not actively developed any more.

Hive exclusive story: Is Elon Musk really working with Dogecoin developers to improve the meme coin, as claimed?
Dogecoin, which also uses Proof of Work as a consensus algorithm like Bitcoin, is a fork of Luckycoin, Luckycoin is a fork of Litecoin, and Litecoin is a fork of Bitcoin.
So is Bitcoin the true Dogefather or did Elon Musk actually have something to do with the development of Dogecoin or even Bitcoin?
In any case, in recent months Elon Musk has turned out to be an unpredictable Dogecoin maximalist who hardly misses a tweet to shill Dogecoin and badmouth Bitcoin, although the signs can also change daily.
Musk has even claimed to be involved in the development of Dogecoin on more than one occasion, such as in this tweet.
What is true is that Elon Musk has already publicly admitted to being a fan of Dogecoin on Twitter since about April 2019:
Elon Musk apparently made such an impression on the Dogecoin community that he was voted as the "CEO" of Dogecoin in a joking Twitter poll.
In a recent interview with one of the four Dogecoin developers, Ross Nicoll, on Decrypt, Ross even reports that Elon Musk had actually sought contact with the developers back in 2019.
However, they would have rejected an offered funding by Elon Musk for the further development of Dogecoin for reasons of principle.
It is unclear whether Musk himself is invested in Doge and whether it really came to a substantial exchange with the developers beyond an initial conversation or Musk had anything else to do with the development of Dogecoin.
What we do know, however, is that Vitalik Buterin recently picked apart Elon Musk's technical proposal to scale Dogecoin as rather amateurish. [9]
Furthermore, it is known that Jackson Palmer, the co-founder of Dogecoin, recently called Elon Musk a "self-absorbed grifter" in a deleted tweet.
But the best indication to answer the initial question is provided by analyzing the official GitHub log of Dogecoin.
According to GitHub, Dogecoin's developer activity has gone dormant since 2017, which would also align with the general perception that Dogecoin is no longer being substantially developed.
If Elon Musk had really pushed the technical development of Dogecoin as early as 2019, we should have noticed something about it for the last few years.
Therefore, in conclusion, I would rate the claim that Elon Musk is somehow involved in the development of Dogecoin as rather unsubstantial.
Putting it even more clearly, Elon Musk probably talked to one out of four developers and tweeted about Dogecoin, but that's it.
What do you think about the claim that Elon Musk is developing Dogecoin?
