RE: Tron Foundation Will Likely Try And Eliminate The Competition

in LeoFinance4 years ago

Do Btitorrent and dlive depend on the Tron blockchain? I use the Bittorrent protocol to download stuff, but don't know much about the company behind it. What popular dapps actually run on Tron? Not much on State of the Dapps. Looks like gambling stuff on Dapp Radar. Do they have a blogging platform? 3speak may be in competition with dlive, but does it target the same audience? Justin could muscle people off Steem, but that would make it unattractive for others to make use of it. I hope it doesn't go that way.

Sort:

We cannot be very certain with how Justin seeks to rip steem. However, I see it that Justin is seeing "GOLD" in steem that some users here are not. He wants to dig into this tech and add to the value of what TRon already gives him.

We do need a leader with some drive. I think people just worry that the spirit of Steem will get lost if he tries to merge it into Tron. We have something special here.

That's what we all think. Steem is unique in every way.

DLive runs on Lino, after April 15th Lino will no longer be supported. From my undertstanding, it will then run on Tron and will include the BTT token (a tron token that is/will? be used on bittorrent) as well as DLive's native stablecoin named Lemons.

Migrating anything to a new blockchain can be problematic. You can only do that when you have full control and there is potential to knock people off. Anyway, I would hope that people across the various Tron services can work together to build something and I hope that can include an element of Steem. We know it works.

Yeah, Dlive is centralized, so it's easy for them to shut off their block producers and move over to Tron. I imagine Justin Sun expected to do the same with Steem, but surprise, this thing is actually decentralized so you can't do it so easily.

I am not sure where the conversion stands @steevc. What I do know, based upon that article, is that another torrent site was not welcomed on Tron since it now owns its own.

As for the DApps, there is little activity outside of gambling from what I can see. That is why Sun, in my opinion, went after Steemit. He wants to users that are on that front end.

Hopefully, if he pushes things, people will migrate away from it quickly.

I saw someone suggest that he do his blog posts on Steem rather than Medium and he seemed interested. We need more reasons for people to come to Steem and if we can keep building it up then it's harder to justify trying to kill it.

It would be a good start. We will see what he does to engage the community, if anything.

Tronics.community is their forum.
It looks new and has less than 20 posts.

I see a load of Tron communities on Steem, but not many in any of them yet. Just getting a few hundred of them active here would be cool.

I saw '20m users', somewhere.
That forum could be taken over with less than 20 of us.
