not sure if you are familiar with the work of Richard Heart. One thing I like about him and his products is that they offer, through various IPFS links, downloadable software so anyone can be their own front end, no need to connect to any 3rd parties.

Imagine being able to download INLEO or LEODEX and run it directly off your laptop.

To be able to get updates from confirmed trusted sources.
