RE: A critique of the curiously ordinary life of the everyday worker consumer. (2023 update!)...

So, our frugal consumer can retire 10 years earlier than our average consumer based on the current median income!

It’s quite eye-opening to see the significant difference that frugal living can make on one's retirement timeline. The illustration you provided highlights the silent power of conscious, deliberate consumption and saving.

Living below one's means, while often challenging, seems to offer a greater degree of financial freedom and options later in life. It is essential, though, to consider the quality of life and personal satisfaction in the years leading to retirement, ensuring that the pursuit of frugality doesn’t lead to a life devoid of enjoyment and fulfillment.

10 years is ok - used to be much quicker as interest rates have crippled people's ability to save!

I did a couple of really intense years back in 2014-16 gave me the buffer to quit work - but yeah longer than two years and it's tough going.

Depends how brutal work is too - if you like yr job and career no worrries!

Your right! =D
