All of us who have been involved in the universe of cryptocurrencies for some time, we tend to feel a host of emotions of the most diverse and varied. We go through euphoria, tiredness, joy, pride, fear, greed, hope, hopelessness, anger, helplessness, certainty, insecurity, strength, and many others.
A roller coaster of a lot of emotions
As we can well deduce, all of us in the world of cryptocurrencies are like a species of bipolar or multipolar beings (depending on how you look at it), because one day we can have our spirits up because the price of cryptocurrencies in general is going up, while that the next day we can have our spirits down because prices are falling sharply.
And it is that those of us who operate and invest in cryptocurrencies live in species of roller coasters as far as emotions are concerned. We live with such intensity the emotions that the cryptocurrency market provides us that on many occasions we make mistakes and forget to control the only thing we can control in the crypto markets, which is ourselves.
Controlling the thrill emotions and not let them control us
Something really difficult for those of us in the crypto field to do is control our own emotions in the face of what happens in the markets, and it is something especially hard for those who are starting out in these struggles. The key is to find a way to control ourselves and not act on impulses or irrational opinions, and for this, more than knowing the markets we operate, we must know ourselves.
Knowing ourselves means knowing our temperament to be able to control it. Are we very nervous? In front of which scenario we are very nervous. Are we very impulsive? In what scenarios do we get impulsive? What scenarios make us greedy, fearful, and how do we deal with such feelings?
What moves us to operate at a given moment? Pride, rage, greed, stubbornness, certainty, euphoria? How do we usually act in the face of such emotions? Do we hace a cocktail of several emotions whe we acting on the markets? If is so, which emotions prevailing?
When we thoroughly analyze this type of thing, when we are aware of who we are, what motivates us, and how we act in each specific circumstance, then we will be able to control ourselves and act in the best possible way in the face of any type of scenario that arises before us.
This does not mean that we will not make mistakes from time to time when operating and investing in the markets, but when such errors happen they will not be due to impulsive acts generated by uncontrolled emotions, nor by erroneous perceptions of us towards the markets, but for other reasons of technical nature (supply and demand), which will allow us to learn important and useful lessons about what is happening.
And it is that controlling our emotions when operating and investing in the crypto markets is essential because it will allow us to increase our efficiency when doing so. Thanks to the control of our own emotions we will be able to do a better management of our capital, a better management of the implicit risk and we will be able to see and act in a timely manner in the markets.
So knowing about technical indicators and about fundamental analysis in trading and investments is something of the most important, but of even greater importance is emotional control, and that is something that all of us who are immersed in the cryptographic world should know. We must control the emotional roller coaster that is generated in us by what happens in the markets, since this will allow us to improve our performance in every way. Controlling the emotional roller coaster means then (as I already said), reducing the extreme intensity of the emotions that are generated in us by the strong rises and falls of the prices of crypto assets in the markets and acting appropriately according to our objective analyzes of what is really happening.
With the years that I have been trading and investing in the crypto markets, I think there is no better advice that can be given to a trader or investor than to control their own emotional roller coaster. Let's never forget it
