Peakd are going to change the game this year.

I don't know how many of you keep up to date with posts from the different developers and groups building on Hive but there has been a couple of massive ones from the Peakd team since the last hardfork.

This will change the whole game.

What has gotten me so excited?

The last couple of posts form the peakd team. We already know how amazing the site is and how much it has developed over the past few years but things are finally about to move in an even better direction.

Take a read of these two and let me know what you think.

What they have been doing - New features.

What they are looking to do - Even more features.

The next twelve things.

If you read the posts above then you will have seen what is coming down the pipeline. If you didn't hare are the twelve new amazing features that @jarvie and the team are looking at implementing.

This is a list of some things we are GOING TO DO for sure... we just would love some insights into what you would like to see soon.

  1. Muting users.
  2. See multiple token rewards on post.
  3. Patreon experience.
  4. Lite accounts with no keys.
  5. RC delegation.
  6. Update proposal page.
  7. Language supports.
  8. Customizable communities and front ends.
  9. More analytics.
  10. AD revenue for communities and user accounts.
  11. Welcome page - Tasks - Guidance.
  12. Suggestions - Anything else that you want to suggest for them o look at.

To my mind there are three massive updates here that could really open up Hive to the masses.

  1. ONE CLICK CUSTODIAN ACCOUNTS FOR NEW USERS
Meaning sign up with FB login and don't have to deal with keys until they're ready to own their own account and be responsible for keys. This is for your friends and family who just want to comment on your post. They don't care about crypto or blog writing... YET!
  1. WELCOME PAGE / SENSE OF DIRECTION FOR NEW USERS
We want to give new users ideas of what to do... even a general task list of what is normally done. Maybe even a badge they get when they complete a check list of normal things a new user does. Then maybe extend this to intermediate users and give incentive to get those badges and show off that they're a pretty knowledgeable hive/PeakD user.
  1. AD REVENUE FOR POPULAR COMMUNITIES OR USERS
We hope to create a system to help communities integrate ads upon their request. Meaning their community gets rewarded and the community decides how to distribute that money. But also same for users who know how to get a lot of page views and visitors.

These are by far the most important pieces to work on next in my opinion and ones that we have been crying out for with years. Please make the whole experience easier for people to jump into the system without the need for a blockchain degree to write a post. Also the ability to monetize a blog or community through ads is huge incentive for people to expand outside of the eco-system and bring more people in.

If my page views are directly related to earnings then it is a great reason to share to new places and get eyes on the content. Especially for more established content creators. Then with quick sign ins we can have external people read and comment. hopefully even join a fun community and grow it naturally.
These three steps would be massive for growing hive and it's community. Please make it happen for us.

It won't happen overnight.

This won't happen in the next few weeks but hearing that this is the plan really excites me. It has some of the features that I have wanted to see for years finally on the roadmap.

Combined with what some of the other teams are building right now I am getting my faith back that we are going to turn this place into something special and have the ability to onboard large numbers of people who will actually stay and build.

This will be a big part of that puzzle.

So much news to keep up with... I listened to the AMA live while jarvie was introducing the new features.
It's very awkward to see them make such big strides but the search feature is an absolute mess. I volunteered to test the recurring transfers, jarvie searches my username letter by letter and somehow I'm the second result 🤣
Hopefully it will get better over time.

These are some really interesting changes for PeakD. I like using their front end for creating and editing posts . They make it so easy. The new features being developed should make it even better. Thanks for sharing them.

I use PeakD quite often but I generally don't keep up with the updates. It's nice to see all the changes they are making but don't know what changed (the pop up of reload since PeakD has been updated).
