RE: Shanghai at Rush Hour During the Coronavirus

These markets are absolutely baffling to me. I’m just making plays on IV and the occasional pullback.

I just locked in to two more sets of put contracts in TSLA and BABA today. We’ll see where those end up tomorrow and this week. I have a feeling I’ll close them tomorrow though

Playing with TSLA is playing with fire. Wished I had bought some LEAPs like I had thought to way back when I visited the Shanghai factory a couple months ago.

The thing about BABA is, honestly, the virus should be bullish for it. Everyone is locked in their homes consuming Alibaba services - Ele.me, Taobao, Tmall, Youku. Honestly, thank God for Alipay. If this were a cash-based economy, the virus could have spread even further via paper money.

Yeah both of those are definitely risky plays, especially in this kind of market environment. That’s an interesting perspective on baba, thanks for the insight.

Maybe that bullish value will also come after this all dies down if other investors are thinking similarly.

Apparently DingTalk (Alibaba’s Slack-like productivity app) is now the top download on App Store? I can’t find confirmation of this but I just saw it mentioned on Linkedin.
