I bought a few weeks ago a coin that struggles every day to keep up but never reaches the price I bought it for, but I will start to take more into account what you say about evaluating the Use Case, Utility, Development, Community, History.

For me that's the most important thing for the long term health of my investment. If we drop into another bear market I want a coin that will still be active in a couple of years time. One that has the developers and community to keep going when times are tough.
