Yeah, confusing but two things I know, Steem is greater than Steemit and Steemit dev are not the last cookie in the box, Steem Blockchain have excellent developers.

nah, there aren't any blockchain developers working on Steem outside of Steemit, inc. All the development that has been happening on Steem outside of stinc was not blockchain development. All the DApps being developed on Steem don't mean anything at all in terms of blockchain development - for all intents and purposes, if Steem continues on its separate path, the blockchain development on steem is dead. The blockchain itself takes C++ devs familiar with blockchain development - and there are basically not any of those out there who aren't already attached to blockchain projects and making tons of money (and therefor taking tons of money to lure them away to work on a dead chain...)
