RCB clinches exciting Win In Superover, Ishan Kishan Missed Century by 1 Run

In an excitement filled match Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Mumbai Indians in a super over on Monday.
This victory takes their tally to second win in three matches. Earlier, the match was tied at the peak of the thrill. Mumbai had earlier scored 201 for three wickets thanks to the batting performance of Aaron Finch (52), Devdutt Padiqkal (54) and AB de Villiers (55 *).

For Mumbai Indians, Ishan Kishan with a Solid (99) and Kieron Pollard with his stellar (60 not out) managed to make 201 runs for 5 wickets. Udana needed 18 runs in the final over and five runs off the final ball but Pollard was able to hit a four and the match was
tied.

It all comes to the super over

Hardik and Pollard, who scored a half-century off 20 balls, took Mumbai in the super over. Navdeep Saini was given the ball in his hand from the Bangalore side.
Mumbai batted and scored seven runs.
Hardik took a run on the first ball, Pollard on the second ball, the third ball went empty while on the fourth ball Pollard took a four. Pollard was out on the fifth ball. Hardik was able to score one run on the last ball. Captain Virat and AB de Villiers took one run from the first two balls of Bumrah from the Bangalore team with a target of eight runs. The third ball went blank. AB hit a four on the fourth ball. A run came on the fifth ball and Kohli won the final ball. This is the second superover in ten days in IPL-13. Earlier on the second day, Delhi had won a super win over Punjab.

Mumbai Indians opening performance

To start Mumbai team opener Finch and Devdutt got on with the bat after being put to bat and together they added 81 runs for the first wicket
Finch scored his first 50 in this edition of IPL and this also marked the 14th in the IPL league overall.
De Villiers looked in good form and went to score an unbeaten 55-run knock off 24 balls with the help of four fours and four sixes.

Shivam Dubey also contributed an unbeaten 27 off ten balls.

In the final over, Dubey hit three sixes to take the score to 200.
This is the second half-century in three matches of Devdutt and de Villiers. Against Hyderabad, he had played innings of 56 and 51 runs respectively. Finch was given a 2nd life by Rohit which he took good advantage of. Of the 59 runs the team scored in the first six overs, 40 runs came from Finch's bat.

Kohli still looking for batting form

Captain Virat Kohli failed to perform for the third consecutive match. He looked to struggle for 11 balls he played and made only three runs to practice a catch to Rohit Sharma standing on the cover off Chahar.
Kohli has scored only 18 runs in three matches. When Kohli remained at the crease, the run pace also slowed down. Padikkal then hit Pattinson for two consecutive sixes and then hit a four on Pollard to complete his second fifty of the tournament.

AB reaches 50 in style with a six

On a slow delivery from Bolt, Pollard took a great catch of Padiqkal at the boundary line but in the meantime De Villiers had started gaining momentum. De Villiers scored 18 runs in an over from Bumrah with the help of two sixes and fours.

He also sent a ball from Bolt for a six and then completed a half-century in the next over of Bumrah with a six that went 90 meters away.
De Villiers added 62 runs with Padikkal and shared an unbroken 47-run partnership with Dubey. For Mumbai, Trent Boult took two wickets for 24 but James Pattinson and Jasprit Bumrah could not leave their impact and failed to impress.

IPL is a popular tournament which plays to packed crowds and full stadiums.
However this is due to Covid19 the revenue is mainly coming due to the TV rights and adverts that play in between the overs.
