Money, Money, Money

Tonight I wanted to touch on Money. To be more specific my thoughts, I could be totally out to lunch, but this is how my brain sees it.

I have always had a problem with what I see, how I see Hive and second layer tokens on Hive traded. Now how, but how people trade them . Specifically what I believe is selling way under value.

I don't think it will ever change but some education might help.

I am going to use Argentina as an example. Not for any reason besides it was first in this list below.

That is just examples of USD conversion rates.

Living in Canada our standard of living is close to the USA so my thought applies pretty well to both.

The basis for my thoughts is if live in a country like Argentina where the month minimum wage is 57,900 Argentine pesos starting Nov. 1. That is about 540 Canadian.

If I do the math based on 160 hour work month that is about 3.38 hour. The average in Canada is about 15.

An average loaf of bread here is about 2.50 on sale. In Argentina approx 12.00 Canadian. Factor in the minimum wage and I am doing the figures in my head, that would be like me having to pay 50 dollars for a loaf of bread.

So, Yes, if I am making rewards on Hive and side tokens just for blogging and live in a country like Argentina, and there are many countries like Argentina.

I would be selling cheap also. I do understand.

But what gets me, if they understood, if they did not sell that cheap, if they did not dump tokens how much more income Hive and other tokens on Hive could generate for them.

But some people are in the need, some people need to sell now. I do understand.

Until we reach the age of abundance, I believe, there is no fixing this issue.

Maybe, just maybe this post will reach a few people and maybe they can try selling for a little more. And just maybe they can help feed their families a little better.

All roads lead to Hive.

I hope you got something from this post.

Bradley

I think we do live in a time of abundance it is just most people are not willing to do what it takes to get their part.

Though I have an ideal price in my mind, I accept the fact that the market thinks otherwise. All I can do is ride the price discrepancies no matter how small they are for now. This to me is how price discovery is made. There are times when the bulls gain the upper hand and there are times when bears are the ones in control. All we know is that there is no forever bear nor forever bull.

Indeed, @bradleyarrow this is happening all the time... I don't understand why people always tend to undercut the price. I do understand as well that people need the money, no actually, I do NOT understand that people need the money so badly that they need to undercut :-(
In my opinion also here they'd need to follow rule nr1 in long term (and thus crypto) investments: don't invest what you can't miss. If these people wouldn't invest more than they could miss, they could and probably would handle with more care and patience and there is no need to undercut...

You're touching on that privileged mentality.

And missing a bigger picture.

Look in those wallets (I haven't in a long time, but I'm sure its much the same), there is a savings account and there is a plan, be it in Hive Power or HBD or only selling a little bit, or something.

And using HIVE to live off of is doing more to bring attention to the ecosystem, than anything we can do by simply blogging.

I have been blogging and earning crypto for almost five years now. Recently was the first time I took out a big chunk.

I did HBD since its the stable coin, and the 20% interest rate I am no longer receiving was a prices I was willing to pay (or feeling forced to).

I have more people paying attention to what I do, than I have, ever, because they don't care about my writing, or the blockchain, or the community, or anything else.

They are curious as to how I was able to accumulate x amount ... and spend it in cash.

Fantastic response.

I have to say I agree with all your points.

If they are paying attention because of the money that is a great time to get them to pay attention to the rest.

I bet you did not sell your HBD for 50 or 60 or 80 or even 95 cents did you? You got what is was worth. Close to the 1.00 peg I bet.

That was the point I was trying to make. Some people will sell to cheap for the sake of moving a token quickly.

I may have dipped into those gaming tokens that I've seen go x 10.

Or that I've lost x 10 value in now that I sold them, however we see.

The amount of $$ I kept pulling out, had to do more with the cost to take the money off chain, than how much I was losing in the "Bear Sale"

If someone would have been willing to trade my Hive for $5 bucks I would have most certainly have kept scraping my Hive-Engine Tokens to put $5 worth of gas in my car every time I could have.

I don't have a way to sell $5 worth of HIVE so I won't but if I would have, this past season, you bet your butt I would have.

I would have also made sure that for every bit I was taking out, I was keeping at least some in, because I would not want to be bleeding any tribes dry.

100 percent understand. And in the long run, is that not why we are all here 😉

Money is hard thing to think about but I am kind of glad that I don't have to dip my toes into Hive to pay off any things. From what I see, I think Hive has the potential to go up but I don't know how long that will take.
