Interesting thoughts Bradley, I am not sure if the base rewards system of Hive is the right place to address it though, after all the posts going viral after 7 days are a very small number, what we do have is tips, and I could also see that this would bee a good idea for a Hive-engine token specifically made for stock content that stays relevant for a long time.

I think of 3speak.tv and YouTube. How many YouTubers would come over if there was not one week limit?

Food for thoughts I think it'll be a nice idea to set some criteria for post rewards after 7days. If 3speak can be like youtube then it'll have more edge over other video platforms out there, most YouTubers would really love to hop on the crypto train where they aren't censored.

3speak can be a start for this great idea and am sure it'll even benefit the whole Hive ecosystem. We'll see how things turns out in the future, there might be plans for that later over time

if I'm not mistaken, for that there is the option of tips, with which you can leave a gift to the author, and it even seems to me more direct than leaving a vote that benefits both the author and the curators.

Very good post . I think there should be a fund where all this hive originated from upvotes given after the seventh day goes. If a certain minimum is reached (in case of something going viral) the author gets paid. Something like 100, 1000 hive would be a good idea. But there should be a way to avoid the exploitation, like the number of shares a certain post receives.

If something is shared more than 100 times after the seventh day, and the payment reaches 1000 hive, the author gets paid.

Something like that, making sure the number of reposts is also taken into consideration.

So, we get our payouts every 7 days. Are they saying that we would be waiting longer for our payouts or we would get them after 7 days and that there would be more depending on how the content does over a certain period of time? Am I understanding that correctly?

Maybe not because on YouTube the number of followers and viewing hours you're required to have is so high it is very hard to reach that for most people.

I’m referring to the big players. Those who easily reach that minimum. We need them on hive. But they need more reasons to come, otherwise they would be here already. It’s more than marketing that hive needs. Just my 2 cents …..

I agree with that @xmauron3! They are making a boatload of money from YouTube, Adsense, and probably Instagram and Facebook as well. Why would they come to Hive? There should be some kind of incentive to get them here.
