80 million merchants worldwide. Visa that is.

You have to read this article Visa trillion dollar company to launch Bitcoin, Ethereum and Ripple (XRP) wallet by Gitonga Mbogo.

Yes I know Visa is centralized but what a stepping stone for crypto. And grandaddy Bitcoin is there of course and that is Decentralized like Hive.

Is this not what us Bitcoin maximalist have wanted? To be able to spend Bitcoin just about anywhere. Absolutely.

So if a giant like Visa wants to do this I am all for it.

Personally I don't need it. We have Shakepay. I have a virtual debit card i can already use to spend my Bitcoin but this will be awesome sauce for the rest of the world.

A copy paragraphs from the article.

"Visa moves forward with its crypto agenda by filing two diversified crypto-related trademark applications.
Visa has partnered with over 60 crypto firms, including wallet service providers and crypto exchanges, to enable crypto payments for over 80 million merchants worldwide.".

There is so much going on in the Bitcoin world that most of the time the badness, like mining companies going bankrupt, left, right, and center and the bear market shadows it.

El Salvador and Lugano Sign Agreement to Spread Bitcoin Adoption.

If you read that article again it has a negative tone to it. But me being Mr. Positive, I did out the positive.

To once again quote:

"American country and the Swiss city will support “initiatives to drive the adoption of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies across their respective regions” as well as “fostering the exchange of students and talents between El Salvador and Lugano,” a Friday announcement by stablecoin issuer Tether said.".

Any forward movement with Bitcoin is a good thing. As I said above I am covering Bitcoin because it is, besides Hive the only decentralized crypto I know of. Anyone name another?

This is an opportunity for Hive.

You have to read @taskmaster4450 post from today. Elon Is Proving Why A Blockchain Like Hive Is Required.

A bit out of the blog post.

"We see how vital it is to have non-banker money.

When we look around the cryptocurrency landscape, where is this going to come from?

It is easy to believe there is a lot taking place to propel things forward but is there really? Are projects actually moving us closer to this reality or is it lipstick on the shift towards even more centralization?"

I am trying to get you to go read his post and to make a point without having to paist his whole post.

My point is, as Hive builds, as we take the time to make true decentralized web 3.0 can we and should we 'use' Centralized entities like Visa to do that. Can we beat them at their own game with their own money and infrastructure?

I don't have the answer. Maybe someone reading this does.

All roads lead to Hive.

Visa's move to enable crypto payments for over 80 million merchants worldwide will be a huge catalyst for crypto adoption. It provides a way for crypto to be transacted on a wider range of products. I just hope they don't charge a steep price for it.

Oh, good point 👉

Sounds like it could be interesting but the problem is Visa is the basically one of the centralized money establishment of the world, every step they take to enter crypto is them taking control again.

It is basically just handing back the independent control people want of their money, kind of funny.

Let's go decentralized but then hand it to a centralized financial institution.

Confused much...

Have the best one mate

I think it depends but I don't think it will really take off unless HBD takes off. I don't see fiat disappearing anytime soon and I am sure a ton of people would like fast feeless transactions.

That sounds interesting, Bradley.
As we see more and more people starting to adapt to crypto, having a company such as Visa adopt it should really help boost awareness.
Next is up to us to promote the Hive Blockchain.
