This is actually the first Polish movie I've ever watched. I got interested in it when I saw the trailer on Netflix. Mama and I had our movie night and we decided on movies with kids as the main characters. We watched a couple interesting movies and this was one of them.
It's called "Za duzy na bajki" or Too Old for Fairy Tales in English.

What is "Too Old For Fairy Tales" about?
The movie is mainly about a teenager named Waldek. He's a gamer who is actively participating in some esports tournament with his best friend Staszek and another member.

His gaming life is his top priority and his mother, Teresa, has been very supportive of him to the point of spoiling him. She was too lenient and overprotective that Waldek became too dependent on her.
However, due to health reasons, Waldek has to be temporarily separated from his mother. Not wanting his son to be left alone at home, she asked her aunt to take care of him while she's away. The problem though is that, this particular aunt Mariola was quite the eccentric type.

She has this crazy and unpredictable way of disciplining Waldek. The young lad was barely surviving the new duties and responsibilities his aunt was giving him. Despite this, our main character received the most valuable lesson life could offer.

What do I think about the movie?

It was entertaining, I must say. The topic of the movie was quite serious and heartwarming, but they were able to portray it in a feel-good way. It's an interesting coming-of-age film where the main character was molded, although in a crazy way, to be a better person.
I especially love the character developments in this film. Not only the main character, but also the other supporting characters has shown progress in a positive way.
Although I'm far past my teenage years, I could really relate to the main character since I'm also into gaming. I guess when we are passionate about something, we tend to lose sight of the other valuable things around us... and it shouldn't be that way. Of course, it's a great thing to have something we're passionate about, but we shouldn't take for granted other things in life.
All in all, it was a wonderful movie. I recommend you watch it with your family or loved ones. Thanks for reading this post. Until next time! <3
