"THE SILENCE" was Deafening!!! (my movie reaction)

After watching "A Quiet Place", I got pretty interested in this film which is of similar genre and style. It's called, "The Silence" and as you might have guessed, the characters in this movie are not to let out a sound.

Well, unlike "A Quiet Place", this movie didn't start silently. I mean, people were allowed to talk and go on with their lives normally. However, everything changed when a group of scientists/mining teams explored a cave which has been closed for years. While doing so, they got to create an opening which allowed thousands or even millions of bats out. Nope! They're not your ordinary bats.

These bat-like creatures in the movie are called "Vesps". They are highly sensitive to sound. Upon coming out from that cave, they started attacking busy cities killing a lot of people with their really sharp teeth and claws.

Through observation, some people noticed that they attack someone who creates a sound... so some people created a video online warning others about it. The government instructed people to stay at home and avoid making a sound, however, the main casts a family of five together with a family friend decided to escape the city and head to the countryside where it's less likely noisy.

As they were escaping from the noisy and busy city infested with vesps, they came upon this cult headed by the "reverend". They're pretty creepy actually and anyone who joins them would have their tongues cut out.

The reason why they wanted the family to join them was because of Ally. He claimed that Ally is "fertile" and would be very useful. Of course, the family decline but these crazy cult did something which created a huge mess. Well, I won't delve more into that.

What happened to the family and the rest is for you to discover. I can give you a hint, though. There's a chance for people to survive, however, there's also a chance for the vesps to evolve again and make the survivor's life a living hell than it already is.

What Do I Think About the Movie?

It was actually interesting and exciting to watch. There are these scenes which make you so frustrated that you just want to get inside the screen and help them. haha More than the vesps, I was pretty annoyed by the cult. They're so creepy that you would want the vesps to attack them and get rid of them.

Another interesting thing was that, instead of totally eating their prey, these predators use them as incubators for their eggs. They'll just continue to multiply until they rule the world. xD I wonder if the survivors can do something about those eggs, though.

Also, I really want to have a continuation of this film. Although we can suspect some possible endings, but it was a bit of a cliffhanger, so I'd love to see a part two. The last picture I shared above is Ally. Somehow, that scene gave me "HUnger Games" feels... so perhaps, it's up to who survives last!

I'll end my review here. It was actually great! However, if there won't be a second film, I'd be pretty disappointed. ;) Anyway, I'll see you on my next review! <3 Have a great one!

Came across your post and will definitely give this movie a try later on. By the looks of it, there is a cliff hanger in this movie - something that I really love

It's rare for someone to like cliffhangers, but yeah... this movie is worth a shot! Enjoy! :)
