"IT" was a Hilarious Horror Film!!! (my thoughts on the movie)

I know it's kind of late and perhaps a lot of you have already watched "IT", but I really think it was a funny movie instead of a horror film. Well, unless you are coulrophobic, then it would be a whole different story.

It started when a small boy named Georgie was playing with a paper boat crafted by his older brother Bill. He was trying to sail it along a rainy street until it went down a drain. Suddenly, a clown appeared and introduced himself as Pennywise and somehow lured little Georgie to come closer to retrieve his paper boat.

He then bit of his arm and told Georgie that he, too, is going to float until he totally took Georgie away in the sewer. Actually, it wasn't just Georgie who was missing in this small town called Derry.

One of the characters named Ben, who is the new kid in town, discovered something weird about their town and its history.

He discovered that their town Derry has been plagued by some unexplained tragedies which usually involved the disappearance of children. There were even mentions of a children in big groups dying.

In the current year that they're living in, there were a series of child disappearances including Georgie's. Since Bill is convinced that his brother is still alive somewhere, he asked his friends to help him solve the mystery that one summer. The summer that became a very memorable one for all of them.

What Are You Afraid Of?

This question really plays a great role in this movie. The children involved in trying to crack the mystery of this town faced various crazy things... specifically things they're most afraid of. For instance, one of them is somehow a clean freak and suddenly a leper who looks pretty gross with decaying body parts suddenly went near him and took one of his pills. That is like a representation of his greatest fear, and every time one of them encounter their fears, the infamous clown, Pennywise appears on the scene trying to take them away with him.

As they were trying to solve these mysteries, they discovered two important things... their fears and the sewers which are basically connected all over town.

What Do I Think About IT?

Well, the story was interesting. I like the message we can learn from the story and that is our fears feeds on us. The greater we fear something, the greater it eats us out. So, we should try to conquer them, because once we try to acknowledge our fears and face them, they become much smaller than they used to be.

I just found the scenes funny, though. Maybe because of Pennywise's face. haha I'm not scared of clowns, and I find his face really funny instead of scary. While I and my papa were watching the film, we were both laughing a lot on various scenes. Of course, there were some scenes that are great jump scares and can really make your heart explode, but majority of them were funny. Or is it just us? It was worth watching it though. Perhaps, if I read the book, it would be more interesting in my imagination than how it was portrayed in the movie. That's just a personal though.. OK? I have nothing against the movie... my fave child actors from Stranger Things and Locke Key were both there (Finn Wolfhard and Jackson Robert Scott), so it was nice seeing them in the film, although not together.. and they look super young, especially Finn.

Anyway, it was great watching it. However, if you're scared of clowns, it might not be the movie for you... well, you can always face your fears this way... I'll be cheering for you!

Thanks a lot for checking this post out! Until next time! (^^,)/
