"Handsome Devil" Was Better than I Expected <3

Hey friends! It's time for me to share another interesting film that I watched recently. It was another LGBTQ film suggested by Netflix. I had my expectations, but the movie turned out better than I expected. The movie I've been talking about is entitled, "Handsome Devil".

The story happened in an elite boarding school in Ireland. This school placed great importance on rugby more than anything. Ned, one of the main characters, is not in any way fond of rugby. Because of that, he's somehow bullied. Well, he didn't really like getting along with the students in his school. One day, a new student came. He's Connor and is a star rugby player, the type of person Ned doesn't want to be acquainted with. Unluckily for him, Connor ended up becoming his roommate.

Yep, that was their setup! They tried to avoid each other as much as possible... well, at least Ned did. Despite that, destiny somehow brought them closer together when they find something in common between them --- music!

Their new English teacher, Mr. Sherry, plays a vital role in bringing them closer as well. He's a stern yet very encouraging teacher especially to both of them.

I must say, Mr. Sherry is my favorite character in this film. He's a very interesting guy, but he has a secret which will also affect the two main characters.

Reveal to them who you are... if you dare!
If you spend your whole life to be someone else, who's gonna be you?

I originally thought that this film would be the usual against all odds love story, but it was something much better than that. It was about being true to yourself, accepting who you are and loving yourself in the process.

I think being true to oneself isn't only about your sexuality, it's applicable in so many things and I just found myself being encouraged and inspired by this movie.

The story was so good and the actors did a great job as well. All in all, it was an amazing film. I even recommended it to my mom. She was reluctant at first (since she was busy with her K-drama), but I was able to somehow convince her... and she loved it. We ended up discussing various points from the movie and it was so fun.

I must say, this is one of the best LGBTQ stories or movies I've ever watched. :) So if you have time and are interested, please do watch it!

Thanks for reading this post. See you next time! (^^,)/
