We are blessed to have the rugged beauty of Connemara on our doorstep here in Galway. I love a good walk at the best of times, but a walk in Connemara while taking in lung fulls of fresh country air is hard to beat.

The clouds roll in

Look at how the clouds are hugging the mountains in the distance. The colours of the sky, vegetation and mountains coalesce dramatically as though on a painters canvas.

Sun

The sun even makes a welcome Winter visit and warms us with its glowing bounty of sunlight. We enjoyed the walk with some of my sisters and their husbands and children and exchanged gifts at the end. This year we agreed to do homemade gifts, which was lovely.

Family

Without a doubt, the best thing about moving back West is how close my family is to us, with most living within a 5 to 10 minute drive. Our kids get to spend lots of time with their cousins, aunties, uncles and grand parents, which they are so happy about.
