It is one of those issues many dismiss as insignificant. As if the phrase “just ignore it” can resolve everything. Yet, it lingers. The manner in which someone repeatedly violates boundaries you've clearly established. The instinctive response of your body occurring even before your brain comprehends what's happening.
You begin to observe subtle details. The inflection of their voice. The timing of their actions. The persistence of their behavior.
It becomes frustrating since you don’t always wish to argue. Occasionally, all you seek is tranquility. Just a typical, calm atmosphere, devoid of anxiety. Yet, someone keeps provoking that space as if they relish testing your limits.
Consequently, you get adapt to it. You steer clear. You are at alert. Not what you want, but it's necessary.
This is the aspect people always overlook.
And deep inside you, you realize that it have to be different.
