It was not a furious fight, it was not thunder.
But a silent shadow taking the light,
A promise left unfulfilled, a fading smile.
Love that died while silence wept.
The days became heavy, the nights long,
Love got feeble where once it was mighty.
Care turned into duty, laughter almost faded.
A hollow echo of what had been.
I grabbed on tight, hoping for change.
Still everything consistent seemed remote and odd,
And in that mirror of fractured trust,
I came to understand that love has to be greater than dust.
That was a chapter both bittersweet and honest.
A teacher, a scarred, unsettling view,
For though it hurt, it defined my name,
Moreover, I will not tread that path the same.
