Two joint combine, their separate elements give up their autonomy to create something more powerful. Bones meeting cartilage, wood joining wood, two hands clasped in desperation or agreement.

In hazy rooms, joints travel from lip to lip bearing secrets and typical insurrection, the beautiful burn of short escape. The precise spots at which beams converge, joints are holy places for construction workers when buildings start to stand.

Without joints, everything would be rigid, brittle, and poised to split.

Bodies know this information. Our joints let movement inside framework; therefore, our shoulders turn, our fingers dance. Every word we say is shaped by the jaw joint; the hip joint bears us around a lifetime of walking.

Even relationships have joints: those flexible connections between people that bend but not break, that welcome diversity while keeping connection. The partnership account, the combined effort, the collaborative foray into uncharted territory.

Every worthwhile call demands the ability to connect.
